Deborahs journey
Today Renae, her parents and I went down to Victor harbour. This is about an hour from Adelaide and is a beautiful area. The main attraction here is the wildlife. There is a causeway across to a small island called Granite island and is home to Little Penguins. The island has paths around so you are able to walk around and look for little penguins. During the day the penguins go out for food but we did see a few penguins still in their dens and they are very little. It was a beautiful sunny day and the views across the sea to the harbours were awesome. This time of year southern right whales are in the area and is a good spot to sight them. however today there were none around. After walking around the island and back to Victor we had some lunch in the park before driving to a wildlife park. It was bigger than the one i visited on Friday. We saw the crocs being fed then went to see the koalas being fed. We were able to go in the enclosure and stroke the koalas. They were used to human contact and carried on eating, they were really cute and fluffy! Walked aound the rest of the park feeding the kangaroos who were less interested in food than the ones on friday. There were quite a few joeys in the pouches. on the way back to Adelaide we drove through the Mclaren Vale winery area and stopped at a small town for a drink before heading home.
Despite it being winter the weather over the weekend was really nice and has carried on to Monday too.
