We have finished our 5 day stay in Stockholm now. Fortunately, the weather improved and we have enjoyed sunny days with clear blue skies, although the evenings have still been very cool. Spent a day travelling on the local ferries to the archipelago islands of Vaxholm and Grinda with small swimming bays and colourful timber houses and many many boats. There are many islands like these that make up the archipelago off the west coast of Stockholm.

Also visited the Royal Palace, Skansen (a Swedish open air museum and zoo) and travelled on a gentle harbour boat cruise with wonderful views of the city. Stockholm is indeed a very beautiful harbour city with lots of coffee shops and plenty of fried herring with mashed potato!

Off to Riga in Latvia now!
