Our first week of teaching went very well and we are both enjoying the experience. We have a range of different age groups from 4-13. We are teaching for a few hours a day and then have extra time to prepare for our lessons. This week we were asked to concentrate on numbers and next week we will be teaching directions with the older classes. The children are very welcoming and seem to enjoy our lessons, especially the 4/5 year olds as we playing head, shoulders knees and toes!!! We are looking forward to next week and more teaching!
We have weekends to ourselves so yesterday we had a long lie in and took time to explore the town by ourselves. We had lunch in a restaurant with fantastic views over the river towards the Mon village and bridge. Had some nice french fries before having a leisurely walk home.
Today we have been volunteering at a local dog sanctuary. An English lady has been taking in injured and unwanted dogs for five years here in Sangklaburi and she needs help looking after the dogs. Therefore, we took some time out off our free time and helped with walking the dogs and training them on leads. We are hoping to go back some evenings before we go and walk them again.
It is still very hot here and Don has been badly bitten my mossies!!! Just been to pharmancy to get some cream, hope it works cause it's so painful!
Thank you for all your messages people, it's lovely to hear from all of you! xxx
