Today we journyed from Australia's southernmost point to Australia's highest point! This morning we began our journey into Snowy River Country. We got up early to see if we could spot some platypus, but unfortunately they weren't wanting to be seen! After that stop there were many hours of driving to get through.
In the afternoon we climb high into the Australian Alps. We stopped for a BBQ in the town of Jindabyne and then did an easy 2 hour hike in the moutains, trying to spot more wildlife! Afterwards we continued to the village of Thredbo. In the winter months it is one of the most popular ski resorts in Austraila, but in the spring after the season has ended it is very quiet. We could see the last covering of snow on the tops of the mountains but unfortunately didn't get to play in it due to a road being buried by snow!!!
The hotel we stayed in was a strange place, decorated out like a European ski resort hotel, with very random things everywhere and awful frilly curtains in the restaurant. The food wasn't great either but the beds were comfy and there was a spa that we made full use of!
