Today we had an early start to begin our 3 day tour to Sydney.
We travelled southeast of Melbourne through pastoral South Gippsland and then we arrived at mainland Australia's most southern point - Wilsons Promontory National Park. We walked along Squeaky Beach (named because the sand squeaks under your feet!), after hiking along amazing granite rock formations and stopping for lunch with amazing views. The guide taught us about the coastal flora and native wildlife, and we saw emus, kangaroos and red back spiders!
In the afternoon we travelled to the coastal town of Lakes Entrance. The town is at the Gateway to the Gippsland Lakes and Australia's longest beach - Ninety Mile Beach. We had dinner in a local cafe before heading to the hostel where we stayed for the night and got to know the other travellers.
