We had been trying to book flights out of Roatàn for a few days but were having real problems with the airline's website. In the end, and on advice from the locals, we went to the airport sales desk. Firstly, we didn't expect the sales desk to be the be check-in desk and secondly, we didn't think they would close for lunch. We bought an iced coffee to help kill the 'island' hour before they resumed their service. It was a long process but eventually we walked away with tickets for Managua, in Nicargua, a week from today.

The best tip we received, and one that needs to be passed on, is the cost of taxis from the airport. They have a fixed fare of $25 USD (500 Honduran Lempiras) when you take a taxi from the airport terminal but if you walk about 100m to the road, a passing taxi will take you for 65L per person. Waiting for a taxi on the road in daylight is fine, maybe not so smart in the dark though.

Back in West End, we had a snorkel in Half Moon Bay from the shore. On the southern end of the bay, away from the boat traffic, there are a lot of fish and soft fan coral. Back on the beach, a small stingray was trying to bury itself in the sand where the small waves were washing up or perhaps it was feeding. It could have been a nasty surprise for someone if it hadn't decided to make it's way back out to sea.
