David and Julie Browning's Travels
Well, we made it to London. Finally. We thought we were being clever this year by leaving from Cairns rather than Sydney. But this has turned into a bit of an odyssey. First there was the 2 hour delay in Cairns, then the 7 hour trip to Singapore, 9 hour wait there, then 14 hours to London. And we still have a 4 hour wait here then a 2 hour train trip to Paris. Somehow I think we'll crash and burn in Paris tonight.
At the moment we are sitting in a really nice cafe in St Pancras station, sipping on some coffee and munching on some brioche.
The station is a marvel of architecture - old meets new. You can see where the original station was, then the modern has been added to it.
Might mosey on up to the Eurostar office and see if we can get an earlier train to Paris. I ink the novelty of sitting here for 4 hours may wear off rather quickly.
