Dave & Hilary's NZ Adventure
On route to Omapere we stopped at Waimate North to take a look at Te Waimate Mission, built by and for a missionary group in 1832 it is now one of the oldest surviving wooden buildings in NZ. Next door we also wandered around a very English looking church and graveyard. All set on top of a hill with lovely views of the beautiful countryside all around it. Interesting inscriptions on the gravestones and wall plaques. (Photos on my camera.)
