On our way to Russell we also stopped at Kawakawa, a tiny outback town made famous by its outrageously flamboyant public toilets. The architecture was like nothing we had seen before. Designed by an Austrian architect, Hundertwasser, who lived and worked near Kawakawa during the latter part of his life. The building made us smile, even laugh with joy.
