After a 6:30am dash from our cabaña to the Isla Holbox ferry we arrived back on the mainland at 8am and then jumped on a bus to our next stop in Tulum, some 300+ km away south.

This commences our journey south, which from this point will continue roughly in this direction until we run out of land in Chile.

Our first stop was the famous resort town of Cancun, basically an imported main street usa. not the sort of place we really want to be going to on this trip. However we jumped off the bus, asked for the next bus to Tulum and was told to jump on immediately as it was about to go.

After a 6:30am start, half hour walk and a half hour ferry trip, then a 3 hour bus to Cancun without going to the toilet, we was rather worried about another 2 hour bus trip.

So with some negitation with the Mexican bus driver we both ran off and did what we had to do.....then just about got back on the bus before it departed with our rucksacks.

So our entire experience of Cancun was going to the toliet, which I think it quite fitting.
