Today Dave attempted to mount a horse for the first time and with not inconsiderable success. To be fair, our horses were fairly lazy and also seemed to know where they were going. Emily tried to get a bit of a trot going, but "Mariposa", which means "butterfly" in Spanish, did not live up to her name.
We enjoyed more Honduran countryside, but unsuspectingly the guide took us, via a different route, back to the fertility frog sight. Emily would refute that she was keen to mount the fertility frog yesterday, and in fact only did so because Dave wanted a photo. Today she was even more wary and stood well back.
Our guide was a lot of fun and was keen for Emily to translate all his interesting Spanish commentary on local life, but not so keen to stop talking long enough for much translation to occur. He was keen on hand gestures though and we saw many vivid impressions of drunken Mexican dancing and attempts to wee while drunk...
On the way back, the horses seemed to perk up at the thought of getting home and eating and ran half the way back regardless of whether they were asked to or not, with Dave´s stopping only to swipe some grass.
After a rest we found a great mini-restaurant run out of a lady´s front room, with a menu of two items, both of which were great.
