So today my Uncle took me to see the Wild Red squirrels, and low and behold, I got the best picture of one. I can't remember the last time I saw Red Squirrels. After that it was a trip to the middle of nowhere to search for Eagles. Now this really was the middle of nowhere. But so tranquil and gorgeous, it was like heaven on earth. The single lake and surrounded by mountains and fells. I felt like I was Frodo on a trip to the Misty mountains (only not as Gay as Elijah Wood!). Unfortunately it was getting a bit late so we had to return with not an eagle in site.
So it was out for dinner in Windermere to a local Italian, whose Lasagne actually neared the Muppets, now no one make lasagne like my dear sister… But this was pretty good.
So my time in the Lake District was coming to a close, I have done everything I wanted to achieve, apart from start my writing again. Well maybe next time.
I have to say though it is absolutely gorgeous up here, you defiantly do not appreciate it as much when you are young, the mountains, the crystal clear water, the relaxed way of life. Can't wait to get back up here to be honest and I have only been back a few days.
Did stop off at Morecombe on the way home - that had some fantastic views of the Mountains from afar over the plains of sand.
