My Trip
So we left Harvey Bay. After one of the best trips I have ever experienced on Fraser Island, and headed to an outback cattle station. This was one of the main reasons I went on the Oz Experience, because Mr. laid back himself and I would never had got to see these kinds of places, including Barrington as well. They were just something which added flavour to the Coast. So we had a new set of people which was nice. The main ones I’ll introduce would be Lani and Donna, both English girls who we will keep in contact with. Anyhow back to Kroombit, the guy who ran it was a real cowboy and a complete contrast to the dudes at surf camp; they say Variety is the spice of life. We chilled out for a while and then got taught how to Lazoo (no idea how to spell that) goats, literally Lazoo Goats! It may look easy but believe me we all had trouble, except for Luke of course! Getting his goat on the first try. We also got to Clay pigeon shoot, which Lani had never done before and got 3 out of 5, Impressive. Then it got dark, and again a cattle station in the dark is pitch black, absolute gorgeous night sky views. The cowboy then drove us back to the ranch in his truck while we "yeehard" in the back. Luke, Kel and Shawn have some great pictures which they will send over and I will put online as soon as I get them. We then were treated to a roast Beef dinner – this was the best dinner I have had since leaving Sydney – Yum, fresh home grown Beef. The after dinner activities consisted of cracking a whip, something Lani was dangerously good at. A few drinking games and then the main event, riding a mechanical bull! Let me say I have not had a bruise like that right by my nuts since skydiving! Sheer excruciating Pain! Fun though, Jules lasted the longest but let’s just say all the boys were in pain afterwards. So my experience of being a cowboy, wicked fun!
