Left Venice this morning and stopped for a few hours in Verona, about 90 minutes from Venice. Beautiful little city; a bit of a mixture of Ancient Rome and modern America. Lot's of money in this town! One of the main streets was a bit like Rodeo Drive. 100 yards after you leave this street, you run smack into the the most preserved Roman stadium in Italy. It held about 25,000 spectators and is still used in the summer and fall for opera and symphony performances. A bit of a scare as we returned to the bus and the lady sitting next to me never returned. About four of us took off thru the streets of Verona looking for her for the next 45 minutes. Finally found ( she took the wrong street and ended up across the river). Found safe but a bit shaken up, we took off and almost about to reach Florence. Oh, also visited the alleged balcony of Juliet. The women in the group seemed to enjoy it. All the guys took a pic and headed to the place where Gladiators sparred.
