To be sure, to be sure, the weekend in Dublin was a great one. We got to experience the lovely Ryanair which wasn't all that bad and we even got to sit together on one of the flights. We arrived late Friday night and were pretty much only up for the bus ride to our hostel and check in as by then it was midnight and we knew we had a bit to get through the next day. Saturday we explored the city looking at St Stephen's Green, Grafton St, Temple Bar (including the book and food markets), archaeology museum, Dun Laoghaire (a 30min trip along the coast from Dublin) and naturally the Guinness storehouse. The archaeology museum and Guinness storehouse were probably highlights for us, the museum housing a number of peat bog bodies and artefacts and the Guinness storehouse providing the nicest Guinness we had ever tasted (as you would expect) along with great views of the city. And naturally we enjoyed a night out Dublin styles enjoying live Irish music that the locals were all keen to sing along to (and we wondering whether it was in English or Gaelic!)
On Sunday we enjoyed a great walking tour of the city which provided a lot of the history that we were more interested in and visited some great city icons. We also paid a visit to Trinity College and the Book of Kells. We decided that Dublin was an amazing but very expensive city so had a Guinness for dinner before we left to go to the airport.
