Again the boat dropped us off at one place and picked us up at another. Tour to Bucharest but it was a long bus trip. Made it a long day. Saw the flats built during the communist period. Cocenko demolished many historic buildings to build these and a wide street that he wanted to be bigger than the Champs Elysee but it was mismeasured. Also saw the parliament building. Again one of his big ideas. He had a huge balcony for him to stand on to address the people but the first to actually stand on it was Michael Jackson. He unfortunately said "Good morning Budapest" instead of "Bucharest". Oops. Cocenko didn't actually see the building finished. It was built from 1984 to 1994 and the revolution was in 1989. He was executed but his children still live in Bucharest.
