Intended to stay at Port Hedland, but did not think much of the place when we lobbed in around lunchtime. So we did a lap of the water front, grabbed a feed, and continued a few more hours on the road. Decided to continue the 3 weekly tradition of renting a cabin rather than putting up the tent. The kids were coincidentally asking when we'd again have a cabin with tv, and bunk beds, as we arrived at Big 4.
Needed to check the trailer bearings so dropped that off Monday with the hope of getting it back same day. No luck, so we extended the stay to 3 nights and did some sight seeing.
Tried to take the Outlander offroad to Conziac Point but found out the track was a real 4WD track where you needed a bit more clearance than we had. Instead sampled the beaches at Dampier, and did a day trip to Point Samson. Tried out the new snorkel gear, which Alex was not overly impressed to use. The tide was heading out so ended up reef walking. Saw several octopus. Was pretty windy for our whole stay, so not ideal beach conditions, but fun anyway.
