Dan and Lu's Travels
Set out for our tailors! I went to Hanh Hung to be measured for a suit with skirt and trousres. I had trouble choosing which fabric but in the end went for the best quality. It's brown with a pale pinstripe. It's costing $85, which is 50 pound!!!
Dan was measured for a suit a Cao Minh and I ordered two skirts from there too. Both same style - low waisted full skirt to the knee with a wide waist band and self belt to tie in a bow. One in blue silk, the other in black cotton.($30 for both) Dan's suit was $45 and shirt $9. Both lovely.
I then went to another tailors and ordered a low backed shift dress in black linen ($13!) and a red thai silk fitted top, piped in black ($10). So excited!
We had a walk around the old town, its very pretty. All the houses are faded yellow or blue, most are very dark timber framed.
Camera batteries ran out twice - such rubbish batteries here.
Went to what can only be described as a shack to eat, then decided we weren't that hungrey. I ordered some freshly made tomato soup with bread - I got naan bread! O also ordered a galss of red wine - should have known better - was horrid. It was the endf of a bottle so it was free so she gave me a glass of white too - not much better.
We got talking to a guy from Australia who was originally Welsh but moved to Oz 26 years ago when he was 19. He was telling us about a car accident he'd had where he was thrown out of a 4 x 4 down a mountain then the 4x4 fell on him and he had to wait for 7 hours for the driver (who wasn't hurt) to get help!! And it was his car... apparantly he's still talking to the driver...
Went to Treat's bar with him until 11 then to hotel.
