This Sunday after returning from Wales last night, Daniel, Lindsey, and I left early in the morning to the southern coastal port of Portsmouth. We first went to the historic dockyard to see the old warships. With a combined ticket we got to go inside the HMS Warrior from 1860, HMS Victory from 1760, the Mary Rose Ship Hall, and the Royal Naval Museum. The warships were awesome. The gun decks w/ all the cannons were just fascinating and the Mary Rose Ship Hall...

I went to Wales this weekend w/ 3 Figi's. Thursday Firdaus, Paul, and I left for Wales and arrived at our hostel in Fishguard that night. Steve, the manager was very friendly, he knew our names as we entered and didn't even have us pay until the next day. He was very helpful for suggesting things to do and made the place seem more like a home than hostel. Damian didn't come w/ us b/c he didn't want to miss a class so he ended up showing up at 2 in the morning...

A decent size group of us left for the Lake District early Fri. morning. Some of us continued to Edinburgh that night while others headed back. We spent about 4 hours around the lake, taking a boat ride around it and hiking up a trail near a waterfall. It pretty much dominates lake Wedowee. O and today I found out that my roommate from the travel portion, Daniel, just heard from his mom that they bought a house on Wedowee also. Anyways the lake was gorgeous...

Today after class I went on another trip, this time by myself, to Glastonbury and I walked around Bristol on the way back b/c I had to pass through it. Glastonbury had three things to see: the Abbey ruins, Chalice Well, and Tor. The abby was the earliest Christian sanctuary in Britain, legend saying that Joseph of Arimathea brought Jesus there to build the old wattle and daub church. Records show it standing in 600 and the entire church was destroyed in 1184. ...

Today Shayna, Lyndsey, Neela, and I went walking around Oxford to check out the other campuses and stuff for the 1st time. We walked up the Carfax tower and got a view of the city, then walked in Christ Church college, the biggest and most beautiful of all the colleges in Oxford, also the site of Harry Potter filming. That night Kaitlin organized a fun ice skating night.
