Up early to get to the airport for our 7.55am flight to Nashville - had to endure customs and security again - and after a quick brekky we boarded and set off right on time. We flew over the Grand Canyon and the clear skies let us have a great view of the landscape changing slowly from the desert to the rich farming lands of Tennessee.
We picked up our hire car and I let Greg have the honour of facing diving on the right hand side of the road. Luckily our car at a GPS navigator and so we dialled in an acommodation address and were quickly guided to a comfortable motel. By the time we settled in and got unpacked it was 4pm and we put any further exploration plans on hold until tomorrow.
Friday morning we drove into the city centre and spent the entire day exploring the Country Music Capitol. We looked at the Country Music Hall of Fame, took a guided walk around all the old bars and cafes that the stars used to hang out in, including a great tour of the Grand Old Opry. Following that we had a trolley bus tour of the city, which very informative.
Nashville is a very big place with lots of business headquarters and much development going on. Pretty wealthy place by the look of it.
