Arrived in Nha Trang yesterday, unfortunately its a bit like tenerife. Not that there's anything wrong with tenerife but its just that its not that sort of trip and I'm on my own, there's a limit to how much time you can spend sun-bathing, snorkeling and reading books, still its probably doing me good. Got sun burnt, that peeled and then the skin underneath got burnt too. Have been using loads of sun cream so god knows how pale I must have been, time to crack open the factor 200... Not really much to write about to be honest, booked into a nice hotel, quite tasteful really and beat them down from $12 a night to $11 - what a really bad bargainer I've turned out to be - I'm sure the hotels are finding out where I'm heading, ringing ahead and letting them know there's an english guy arriving who's a complete sucker...'yeah you'll recognise him, he's the one that looks like a snake shedding its skin.' Went snorkelling this morning, really awful australian woman as the guide/dive master. You know one of those people that only ever talks about herself (like my blog I suppose) and whatever really boring thing she's done in a really loud and intrusive way. Not helped by a boatload of dutch people egging her on....come on man, Holland is a cool place, you're letting the team down.... Some quotes.... "who knows what australian wood my pen is made from?" ...I have no idea....driftwood from the raft your friends put you on because you're so dull?" "I've just got back from queensland....no phone, no tv, no internet" ...wow, I really do wish I was there with you..... "The oldest that people have said I look is 43..." ....yeah, and I look 12 love....... "do you want to try a dive tomorrow?" ....does it involve you drowning?....... "Do you want to buy a t-shirt...I designed them myself...." ...not if you were the last t-shirt seller in the world and I was down to my last ever t-shirt that had just been used to clean sick up in a vietnamese resataurant.... you get the idea. So, more sun-bathing tomorrow, off for some food now, will probably choke for being so nasty about that woman.....
