Pat & I met up with friends Deb & Bruce Rowlands at Darwin showgrounds to catch a bus over to the Darwin Airbase at Berrimah to get a close look at the fighter jets that have been playing war games overhead for the past few weeks. Every available bus that was not working on the regular schedule were delivering & picking up passengers during the 8 hours of the open day.

Many countries are here to test their metal against the Aussies. Indonesia, Arab Emirates, Singapore, New Zealand, Thailand & France.

There are mass amounts of planes playing games in the airspace between Darwin & Tindle Airbase near Katherine. The night flights were great to watch as the afterburners light up the sky.

I was talking to some of the guys from Singapore & Indonesia about the planes and the differences between our countries. They were great, it didn't seem to matter how many times the same question was asked, they answered it like it was the first time.
