27th September

Awake bright and early again today and I'm feeling a tad excited as we are heading to Sydney to see Kristy and Linda for the weekend.

After a walk up to Nelson Head we made our way via the coast to Newcastle. We stopped at Swansea (Lake Macquarie) for lunch and had a quick look at Blacksmith's Beach. Made our way to the M1 but only for a short while then we got onto the Pacific Highway to avoid the traffic due to an accident.

We both wanted to drive over the Sydney Harbour Bridge so ignoring the GPS we headed that way. Got across easily but missed a turn and ended up right in the city with the van on ha ha. Found our way out and eventually got to Kristy & Linda's after a traffic jam in the tunnel on the M5.

We had a lovely catch up and keeping with our Friday night tradition we had pizza and beer for dinner.


28th September

We had a quiet morning with Kristy and Linda and then headed to St George Maso's Sport’s Club to have lunch and to watch the AFL Grand Final (Hawthorn 77 vs Fremantle 62) on the big screen. We stayed on and had tea with some Linda’s family and then enjoyed the karaoke and dancing.

The highlight of the day was Linda and her Dad singing Liverpool’s song, You’ll never walk alone.......
