Crew Frivolous
Our roadside camp had been noisy with passing traffic all night so we were up quite early and on the road to Tweeds Heads. We got stuck in peak hour traffic (certainly haven't missed that) for over an hour due to an accident.
Eventually arrived and had a wander around the lake and looked at the James Cook Memorial Lighthouse. The views were beautiful and we could see the Gold Coast in the distance.
We took the typical tourist pics at the twin town border and then went down to Fingal Head for a picnic lunch.
We have enjoyed 70 magical days in sunny Queensland.
We went and had a look at the Lighthouse and at the Giant's Causeway which are vertical hexagonal lava columns in the ocean.
We drove along to Byron Bay but didn't even get out of the car, the place was so very busy. We drove up to the lighthouse there and couldn't even park because of tourist overload.
Hightailed it out of there and headed down to Broken Head a few kms down the road. They had a site available for $57 for one night. Bloody hell!!! School holiday rates up here are huge. It was a nice park very close to the beach.
