Mataranka....quirky little place. Bitter springs more like creepy spring. Mikayla and I swam it, it's meant to be beautiful! We were there so reluctantly we went into the algae infested water and tried to stay in the middle which was crystal clear, this was challenging as along the creek were many massive cob webs with even bigger spiders hanging there above the water right near our heads! Couldn't wait to get to the exit ladder! Much more of a relaxing and pleasant trip to mataranka thermal pool, which was built for the generals in the war a place to come and relax! They widened the spring and reinforced it with stone walls and steps. Evens lovely little spa too!
We stayed two very relaxing nights here, finished our books.
On our drive out we were all amused by the dressed up termite mounds, some in Afl gear some sporting hats, matching tank tops and even Santa! We stopped at larrimah to check out "pink panther pub" and there bizzare zoo!
