Busy bustling Sydney! Woah... The traffic just never stops. We found it all a little crazy but it works. We camped just outside the city in a quite national park called lane cove. Beautiful to be surrounded by the Natural bush to leisurely walk through (mind all the lizards! One ran through Kevs thong!) Loved the Sydney red gums, I thought they were lit up initially! Also this park was the perfect location, easy access to the train, which was a 20 minute ride into the heart of the city. We had a couple of days in the city riding the ferries around to see all the sights. It is breath taking seeing the Sydney harbour bridge and opera house up close and personal. Spent the day Christmas shopping. Fab time of year to be here, seeing all the Christmas trees and decorations in the high streets and malls it all feels very magical. Even bumped I to Kevlars doppelgänger Mr Alex Perry! Hilarious. We treated ourselves to a box of Lindt chocolates which we scoffed while watching our traditional christmas film of choice "love actually". To escape the rain we found shelter in a World War One and currency museum. Quite interesting. Now the girls are on the look out for a £1000 note which is unaccounted for and now worth a whopping $5000000.
"Home and Away" lovers Candeece and Mikayla were beside themselves when we pulled up at the surf club of palm beach. Perfect day for it too. We lazed on this gorgeous bay, sunbathing, swimming and watching kite surfers. All filming had stopped for summer so we missed Brax and Alf!
Blue mountains day trip to scenic world was awsome. We bought a day pass which included unlimited rides on the train/sky-rail and cable cars. All good fun and obviously stunning views of the mountains. The three sisters, Katoomba falls and Orphan rock being the main attractions. Mikayla climbed the cassades of Katoomba falls encouraging lots of tourist to join her for a stunning photo opportunity.
Catching up with the lovely Hendo family. Whom we met on our first night in Monkey Mia. We'd already popped in on Scotty at work one afternoon leaving the city. Scotty is a fiery at Redfern station. The girls tried on all the gear! And climbed all through the truck. Hehe. Scott, Sal, Sami and Chelsea invited us down to there house in Engadine south of Sydney. On the way down we stopped off in Cronulla, gorgeous place. After a quick beach session we made our way to there place, hopped in there Pradoa where we drove through the Nasho as Sal puts it. To Scarborough hotel a gorgeous cliff top pub with fantastic beer garden and great views. We were very grateful to have been shown around a truly beautiful part of Sydney. After dinner on the lawn with their lovely neighbours we said our goodbyes and enjoyed the Christmas lights all the way home.
Bit of excitement at Bondi when we were there (on our 13th wedding anniversary) A shark had jumped on a surfers board! News crews were around filming. Candeece was hopping we'd be interviewed! After some delish Vietnamese street food we went for a wonder around Bondi. I really loved the feel of this place, the old buildings, gorgeous houses and fab shops. We enjoyed Sydney it's a amazing massive city. Looking forwards to a quite beach Christmas in Batesman bay.
