ZAFFERANA, ETNEA, SICILY. 21st August 2011.

Finally a rest day is welcomed, but of all day the day has arrived that my partner Peter arrives in Catania.

Breakfast at home and a late di Mandola is a refreshing change of granita with biscotti della chocolata.

So time to pick up Peter and welcome him into the mad world my cousins live in. After we collected Peter and welcomed him with hugs and a kiss, he seemed so tired. Peter had not slept through his flight. Returning him to Fiorella's home we had lunch and let Peter have a siesta.

Finally I wolk Peter up and we took our swimwear and joined my cousin Lella and Guiseppe for a swim in their pool. I introduced Peter to my cousins (I had warned Peter that my cousins are loud), and the reception was very warm. Poor Peter had no idea what he was in for!

In the evening and that was about 9.00pm as during the summer vacation the Sicilians eat very late, Fiorella, Nuccio, Peter and I joined Giovanna and Saro for dinner at Penisi.

Peter tries horse meat for the very first time. Watermelon seems to be very a popular desert and of course followed by gelato, Coffee and a liquore.
