Leaving Sydney airport was pants. Having been in Australia for 8 months it had become my home and I had had such an amazing time. Ah well, new country, new adventures!
I was such an idiot when I arrived as I left my make up bag in the arrivals halls and randomly the woman on my shuttle bus had handed it in so we had to run back to the arrivals lounge! ha ha what a wally bum!
Heather, who I had met on my Great Ocean Road Trip and also she had come along to Alice Spring with me (she is stalking me) was arriving in Christchurch the same day. I had met up with her in Sydney the night before. We wandered around the "city" which is not very big at all even though its the biggest town in the south island. Its quite a pretty little place but not really much to do...when i come back I will go to the Antarctica centre though.
We wanted to get out of there as soon as possible so the next day we booked our Kiwi experience trip, which is a bit like the Oz experience. That night my friend Antje (who I had met in Cape trib and also saw her in Melbourne) drove from where she lives in Methven to Christchurch to see me with her friend. It was so good to see her again! We ended up popping to a random irish pub called the Bog for a couple and then i went back to the hostel for a good nights sleep before our early pick up!
After the South Island trip I returned to Christchurch. Us girls, Heather, Pembo, Laura and I decided to check into the Sanctuary which is a girls only bit of the hostel. I was fed up of waking up and smelling the smell of boys....the whole sharing with 7 guys in Queenstown had been an eye opener! ha ha. In Christchurch we didnt do much to be honest, we had a girly night of face masks and painting our nails but we were all pretty much partyed out and tired from our mad few weeks. We had to say good bye to people which was really sad as we had spent so much time with them. The crap part of travelling is always having to say goodbye...
