Our Fantabulous Trip Around the Globe
Tonight is my last shift before we leave. I am really going to appreciate the break from this place. It's been a good nearly 3 years, but the politics of this place are starting to get to me although it will certainly be an interesting session of Parliament. It will fun to be out of the Ottawa loop for awhile. Honestly, the government could fall or Harper could be annointed Emperor I wouldn't hear about it for months. Quite the contrast from living the news first hand to being nearly as far away as possible. I like it. I'm going to miss the friends I have made here but I am certainly not going to miss the attitudes I had to put up with. I feel so liberated.
The next 11 days are going to be even more hectic than the last few weeks. We move on the 29th (so our phone will be disconnected on the 30th-fyi). Scooter moves to Sudbury on Saturday much to our and his chagrin. On Saturday, he climbed into a suitcase I was packing and gave me a look that said "you can't leave as long as I am in this suitcase." That made me sad. Slowly the apartment is being dismantled with another painting or appliance being removed. So surreal. It's been 10 months in the making so it is now time to leave. It is time to go enjoy all the world has to offer instead waiting for something to happen. We are going to make something happen.
