Our Fantabulous Trip Around the Globe
We're one step closer to blowing this Popsicle stand. Last night we got poked in the arm and now have yellow fever coursing through our veins (cost = $125 each). Then we got our prescription for malaria pills (cost = $250 each). Then we bought our trip insurance (cost = $1142 total). The bills are starting! I could write some cheesy thing about the beauty of the trip being priceless, but I'll resist the temptation...
So, now we're putting the final touches on the round-the-world plane tickets. Yeah, just like we were doing two days, two weeks, or was it two months ago?! Our travel agent, Leah, is awesome. It helps that she's from Winnipeg ;) Honestly, within a week we should be slapping down the plastic to pick up the cost for the tickets.
We got some good news from Joy (Joel's Mom) last night---she's officially coming to Lesotho to volunteer with us! It looks like she's going to be joining us in June, for a month or so. Welcome to the adventure, Joy!
And Ferne (my Mom) will be coming to Italy. We'll be staying with friends of hers in southern Italy, which we've been told is the place to be. We'll be staying on a teeny tiny island that is one of Aeolian Islands (between Sicily and the toe of Italy's boot). Check out the Web site: http://www.isolelipari.it/aeolian_islands.htm.
Sign me up!!
Hmmm...what else? Joel's foot is healing and he did a presentation to a school principle about Help Lesotho. Looks like they'll be on board for some fundraising in the near future. Saturday (Feb. 18th) Joel does a presentation to the Scouts about the projects we'll be working on. Should be a good time!
We'll keep you updated as time goes by...
