Our first part of the journey was the boat to Krabi which went quite smoothly.. (which wasnt an idication for the rest of the way)... we waited for the coach to take us across the mainland but just as we were about to get on the coach us 2 and another couple got chucked into a tuk tuk with our luggage with no explanation and began a 10 minute race to a ..wait for it.. PUBLIC BUS..! oh lucky us, paying for the lovely coach service and travelling with locals. At least we had Dan and Rosie to laugh about the situation with. Well to cut a very long journey short we ended up transfering 8 times onto different transport and go to the port just in time! although the boats engine had broken so there was no need to have rushed at all. Booked 1 night at a Power Beach Resort which we had no idea where it was and all 4 of us ended up there...
Never fear it was only 24hrs before we discoovered the best resort on the island and had made friends with 2 members of staff Bobby and Jamie! We had decided to stay at Coral Bunglows for the rest of our time in Koh Phangan! We were sat in the bar and Magnus and Sabina walked in. They were both on our Kiwi bus and we hadnt seen them since February! small world...
Koh Phangan was CRAZY!!!! glad we had a nice rest in Phi Phi we were set to end this 6 mth trip in style!
Night 1: Started in Coral bar drinking with Magnus and Ilya (a new buddy from Israel who we couldnt shake off! plus Jayne could never understand what he was saying- ever!). Went to Haad Rin for the beach party where Magnus was Queen of Fire skipping. Yes that is where they have a huge rope, pour petrol on it , set it a light and let Magnus jump up and down trying not to burn himself. Needless to say being slightly intoxicated we chose to enjoy this activity from afar and acting like cheerleaders for our sweedish mate who was somehow amazing at it!
Night 2: CORAL RESORTS FAMOUS POOL PARTY! wow! what can we say one of our best nights during our whole trip.. its the build up to half moon. Hundreds of people in and around the pool. Dj and dance floor..more than enough buckets! We spent the evening with Magnus, Sabina, David and Marco (who we thought his name was Michael for a whole night) . Much fun was had by all......
Night 3: After a hangover from hell and having not gone to bed until around lunchtime the following day it was definately a night for recovery.. come on we are 25yrs old.. not spring chickens anymore. Chilled out with Magnus, sabina and Marco..had dinner and an early night.
Night 4: HALF MOON PARTY... met up with Dan and Rosie again for lunch and to buy floresant body paint in preparation for the party. They came over to Coral early eveing and the drinks began whislst decorating ourselves along with hundreds of other guests! At 2am we made our way to the Half Moon Party which is in the jungle. So along with 6 guys and gals from Ireland we endured a long winded very repetative song about an irish barmaid getting with differnt types of men! Got into the party and the sight was amazing.. have never seen that many people painted and drinking buckets jumping around to... HOLD ON A MINUTE! what music do we completely deteste.. TRANCE/HOUSE/ELECTRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my god how will we survive this ... It was a fab place to people watch and enjoy the vibe but we shall be honest and tell you we didnt last long.. we came, we saw, we were disappointed.. COARL POOL PARTY was so much better. Everyone agreed with us the next day but we are glad we went to see what all the fuss was about.
Our last day: Checked out at 11am. 1pm we got the tuk tuk to the marina and began our god awful journey back to Bangkok.. 4.5hr on a boat, 10hrs on a coach and we arrived on the Khoasan road at 4am. Our lovely hotel let us check in at 6am thank the lord! and we slept like babies!!
