Last day in the dramatic fjord country as we leave the beautiful Hotel Ullensvang through the landscape filled with apple, cherry, and plum trees. The sun is shining and we're listening to Grieg. What a brilliant way to start the morning. In the tunnel roundabout again, I just love the artwork affect the blue lights portray. Sighted many communities and farms on the fjord hillside, with the question , how do they get there? Well it's by narrow one lane paths and hiking. As I write this I'm currently looking at 17 waterfalls!
We visited the Hardangervidda Nature Center where we viewed a panoramic video about nature, fjords, and other glacial features. FYI - there were goats grazing on the roof of the gift shop.
Then off to the mountain plateau where the Norwegians have their hitte or get away homes.
We stopped for viewing at the Fossli Hotel for viewing of the ( how many times can I say "Wow") waterfall area on the Hardangervidda, a 2000 sq miles national park with LOTS of snow to be seen for mile after mile as we drive through looking for those elusive reindeer.
Back to the tropics, we encountered 80 degree weather as we head into Oslo through the river valleys, but still see the raging rivers, pine and birch covered mountainsides, and sunny skies. Staying at the Hotel Bristol tonight in downtown Oslo. Welcome to Oslo, a city of sailboats.
