Today we spend wandering around the town of Sorrento. We have we so busy leaving the town we hadn’t go to enjoy the town itself. We found a secret bar La Finestre about 50 metres from our front door and so made the most of another lovely afternoon and had a drink overlooking our little fishing harbour. We started the day fairly casually. We had booked our ferry for 10.30am and so made our way down to the harbour doe just before 10am. But the ferry to Amalfi was cancelled - no, delayed until 11.30am. Hmmm. So it was time to get a coffee and tea and wait it out for an hour. That unfortunately meant that our time in Amalfi was also cut short as we had booked another ferry from Amalfi to Positano at 2.55pm. Our ferry ride to Amalfi was fairly quick and we marvelle...

We awoke at 7.30 and because the day was looking great booked a ferry to the island of Capri at 11.10. We walked across the top of the hill at Sorrento which has a spectacular view of the coastline and the harbour and descended down to the ocean via steps carved into the rock face and dug out to form a pathway. We walked past the ‘beaches’ and onto the port of Sorrento which was crazy busy with people everywhere. This is the hub to get ferry’s to the Amalf...

It rained overnight- wasn’t a problem as we left our accommodation and walked towards the station. We found a cafe and had a coffee and some breakfast and then it pelted down with rain as we left and walked toward the station. It was like a bucket of water was tipped over us the rain was that intense . We were drowned rats buying tickets to Ercolano Scavi and Herculaneum where we would do a tour . Herculaneum is a smaller version of the aftermath of the volcan...

We left home just before 3pm and arrived at Sydney airport at 3.50pm. The Emirates checkin hadn’t opened then but was about to and so we were pretty well in from of most. After check in, Corinne was sat in a seat awaiting a wheelchair and ground crew assistance which arrived pretty quickly. We were wheeled to our private lounge at the airport and enjoyed a few hours of drinks and food before our flight. Only the Emirates staff forgot about us…. 3 phone calls...
