We took our bikes with us on a ferry to Mackinac Island (same pronunciation as "Mackinaw", this is the French spelling). We started by cycling the 8-mile paved trail around the island, and scouted out some of the sites we wanted to view later. The trail was very flat and picturesque. We stopped for lunch in the lakeside village and shopped some of the stores. Very beautiful little village with lots of neat architecture and colours. After our tour, we got back on our bikes, and cycled the trails criss-crossing the island. We stopped at Arch Rock, Fort Holmes, Sugar Loaf rock, Skull Cave, Devil's Kitchen, and then cycled a narrow, rugged single-track trail to see the "Crack in the Island". We had a very nice fish and chip dinner and an early night.
