From Vegas we had a our longest journey yet to Yosemite the drive was about nine hours long I was not looking forward to being stuck on a small mini bus for that amount of time, but unfortunately that's travelling I very quickly learnt. We had two nights there but because the drive was so long when we got ther we all ate dinner and just went to bed.
It was yet another very early start because we were hiking up Yosemite falls. Damien told us that it was no where near as bad as the canyon but boy did he lie. The mountain was very steep and the steps were not steps they we just rocks on top of rocks and due the rain it made it very slippery. One by one three of the girls wanted stopand said it was too hard and they wanted to go back. The six of us and Damien went on. He told us at the beginning that is was all up then down which is why he said it was easier than the canyon. Myself and three of the others left went on up I wanted to get this out of the way the higher we got the thinner the air got but we powered on. Once we got to the top we waited for the two other girls and Damien to make it up, he told us to wait for him there and he is a big worrier. It was so cold at the top and it started to rain that turned into very small hail stones everyone was trying to tell me it was snow, it defiantly was not snow! Once they arrived we went and looked at the falls it was amazing but I hits wanted to get back down because I was so cold! On the way back down we all had to be super careful all the rocks were wet do made it very difficult. I was asked to be at the back to make sure everyone got down ok and no one fell behind. Phoebe was in front of me and gosh that girl can be clumsy. At one point I thought she was going to fall off, she really slept and my hart went in my mouth. When we finally got to the bottom Damien asked if we still wanted to go ice skating? I was defiantly up for even though my legs were were so tired but I couldn't miss the opportunity of ice skating in Yosemite. It didn't take me too long to get used I think this was thanks to me roller blading in San Diego. A lot of us got the hang of it but Damien came straight off pretty much straight away, he was pretty terrible at it. We went back to the hostel where they had a hot tub, steam room and jacuzzi. A few of us got in but were told we had to pay ten dollars to use it. Myself and two others got out, I wasn't paying for something that I was going to use for a few hours. Two others stayed in and when they went to pay they didn't have to because they didn't use it for long enough I was so annoyed! I could have really done with a nice chill section after the day I had.we all chilled that night and had a really early night ready to get back on the bus to San Francisco, I couldn't wait to go back!
