Spent the last few days based in Queenstown. Had a lovely time taking in the spectacular view of the Remarkables mountain range. I got a closer look by jumping out of a plane at 9000ft (baby dive) and really enjoyed the gliding gazing as the beautiful scenery the free fall was just scary!! Had a fabulous few days in Franz Josef and Wanaka. Went on our glacier hike on Wednesday and it was amazing. However we had really bad weather, hail, rain, thunder lightning but it was still fun getting very cold and wet and climbing on ice. The next day we set off early for Wanaka paqssing through Haast pass where the bus got stuck in the snow. Had to put the snow chains on in order to get up the hill hehe! Had a great time and weather in Wellington over the weekend. Went up to the Botanical gardens via the cable car and had a picnic. Then we walked to Oriental parade which is along the harbour and decided to treat ourselves to some very yummy ice cream. After stuffing ourselves we hiked up Mt Victoria to look out over the city and didn't realise how far it actually was. Arrived in Rotorua on Wednesday. Booked myself into a lovely hostel - thank you soazy! - and decided i would go for the Maori feast and concert that evening. Cave tubing is so much fun! Arrived in Waitomo at lunch and checked in to the lovely YHA here. I'm staying in a lodge very cute! Its very close o teh info centre so i popped down there to see what was on offer for cave tubing or black water rafting as it is also known.
