We LOVED Pai! Backpacker heaven. Booked for two nights. Stayed for 3. Hired mopeds and explored everywhere on these. Temples, canyons, hot springs and drove up massive hill sides to watch the sun go down. Some small boy pulled down his pants by the road side and flashed while we were driving past trying to shock us! Haha.
We partied hard on the first night, the bars had a relaxed hippy vibe then later on a more dance feel. We played drunken Jenga with people we had met in Bangkok and then the next day I noticed 4000 baht had gone walk about from my purse. Next time we saw those boys they kept their distance - obvious much...
I ate the most amazing crepe with Nutella and banana, could not believe how good it was! All the stray dogs were wanting a piece! So many stray dogs! Just running all over the roads.
We partied on the last night with folk we had met in Chiang Mai on our cooking course. Pai is so small you bump into people you have met before all the time! We met them again at the airport and will no doubt bump into them in Vietnam!
Left Pai a lot poorer with a strange looking rash on my legs from the gross hostel bed but it was definitely my favourite place so far, so relaxed and so far from the hustle and bustle of a city.
