Ah Koh Tao, 4 days of open water diving, staying in a luxury resort with our new friends Flick and Vic and a bunch of lads lads lads.
Day 1. We had an introduction to scuba diving and they gave us homework!
Day 2. We were taught about all the equipment and how it works. We took to the pool and went under! I panicked at first as the concept of breathing under water seems so alien but soon got used to it.
Day 3. Sea dives! Our first ever scuba dive in the ocean! This was pretty exciting but pretty nerve wracking! On jumping in my mask came off and I snorted a whole load of sea water. Our descent was really exciting and couldn't believe that I was actually breathing underwater. When you descend they tell you to pop your ears a lot so you get used to the pressure as you go down and it doesn't cause pain. This took me longer than expected, possibly because of too much partying and the onset of full moon flu! Once down on the sea bed we practiced all our skills so should anything go wrong we would know what to do. Over the next two day the next three dives were amazing. We swam down to almost 18meters and saw so many different types of fish all going about their own business. Sting rays, finding nemos, jelly fish, trigger fish, so many more. The visibility was really clear and the water was so blue, and lovely and warm - 29c. We are now officially certified open water divers!! Can't wait to do my advanced level at the next opportunity we have!
After passing our exam and practical dives the group all met up for dinner, and a lot of drinks and had a hilarious night out! Koh Tao has been the best fun we have had by far, diving was an amazing experience, a whole new world to explore!
We had to leave pretty sharp the next day as we had over stayed our visas. Oh oh!
Time to explore Cambodia!
