Took the bus North from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai and spent one night. Mosquito central! The town was small and not too exciting. We got up at the crack of dawn the next day and hired a driver to take us to all the places of interest in the area. We visited the White Temple - A gorgeous newish temple with lots of mirror and glitter, we visited a creepy place called black house in the middle of no where which felt like it should of been the centre of a cult or something from a horror film. Skinned snakes and crocodiles lined the temple long tables and furniture was made out of animal bones - weird. We headed up to the Golden Triangle and saw the point where Burma, Thailand and Laos all meet. It was quite impressive. Our last stop was visiting the hill tribe villages such as the Karen tribe - where women wear rings around their necks for life. It was Interesting and the rings weighed an absolute ton! The women would not be able to take these off now as the muscles in their necks would no longer be able to support their heads.

We arrived back in Chiang Rai in the afternoon and booked a bus back to Chaing Mai!
