Hey! So we arrived safe and sound via a rip off taxi to Khao San Rd and checked into a little guest house. Went for one with a swimming pool...gotta be done for first couple of days! Spent first 2 days hanging by the pool and sleeping a lot...yes yes lazy. On our 2nd night we checked out the bars and a club and got through a few buckets of the delightful Sangsom whiskey and red bull, end result was me (Suz) feeling very ill all of the next day...Claire handled it muxh better though as she is more hardcore Yesterday we went to the Grand Palace and saw the Emerald Buddha, unfortuntely it was raining LOADS while we were there but the thunder was awesome and we got used to being soaking wet quickly enough. It was an experience just walking there due to having to cross the many lanes of traffic and get attacked by pigeons (seriously). But all good fun! Last night we had a meal for the equivalent of 1 pound each which consisted of a mix of dishes...one was small salty fish with the heads on...claire was not a fan and to be honest it wasn't the nicest tasting dish...but i found them strangely hard to stop eating!! Met a friendly English guy at one of the various drink stalls on the street and he took us to a cool bar (Gazebo's) where they had a live band and lots of sheesha's. Our first friend!! Looking forward to gettin the overnight train to Chiang Mai tonight. Hoping it will be a little less crazy cos we're constantly being harrassed here!!
