Wasn't too hard getting up at 5 O'clock this morning - getting used to it now. Still don't enjoy getting up to the rain though!
We met up and with Carl and Julie and were picked up for our trip to see My Son, that's not actually a person who we have never told anybody about but a nearby place pronounced 'mee sun'. It was an old city, (old as in 400AD) that has now been reduced to ruins, with a little help from a couple of bombs from the States.
As it was really early when we arrived we were one of the first there to explore the ruins. Bomb craters are still present to this day, yet the place seems to hold so much history. Odd rooms are still standing to walk through, but some of it is overgrown. It's yet another place in Vietnam where if you walk to far from the path you can easily lose a limb or worse from an undetected mine! We really can't believe why anyone would destroy such a historic and amazing place.
We got back, still in time for breakfast which we also shared with a tiny Ginger Kitten! Said our goodbyes to Julie and Carl as they move on to the South later today and we then hit the sack! Knackered!
We had a lazy afternoon watching very cheesy films (the marine) in bed and then treated ourselves to an Italian for our tea - So worth it!!
Had a few beers with some people we had met at various places up and down the country - one of which was on our very flight from Heathrow back in January! We ended up having front row seats to a to a lesbian couple who actually couldn't take their faces apart from each other - it was like they were putting on a show with what they were doing, but eventually they disappeared to a toilet and didn't return for another 30 minutes! Obviously Dave and the lads weren't interested at all!
