We were met at the pier by a girl who we followed to a small travel agent where we got a coffee and sat in the middle of the road on plastic chairs waiting for our lift to the harbour. About an hour later we and another girl were randomly picked from the group and taken in a private car to another travel agents on the other side of town. We waited another 30 minutes before being put on a bus which took us on the 3 hour journey across to Krabi's harbour on the East coast. From there we then had to wait another hour and half before being told to follow a small boy in a yellow t-shirt to another truck which then took us and 4 others to a small pier where after another 30 minutes of waiting around we finally boarded our long tail boat for our journey to Railay Beach. As you can see, thankfully there wasnt too much waiting around...
Once getting to Railay we dropped our bags at the first hotel we found, but didnt want to stay as it was a little expensive, so we both went on seperate missions to find cheaper accommodation, but neither of us could find any so we had to settle for the first hotel we arrived at.
So after 2 trucks, 1 car, 1 big boat, 1 little boat, 1 bus, lots of walking, no swearing, and plenty of standing around and waiting we were in our room!
We knew Carl and Julie who we met in Vietnam were in a nearby hotel so we set off to fin them at their much nicer resort (splurging for Julie's birthday). We had a few drinks on their little balcony at their huge aircon room before joining them and another Norweigan couple for tea or dinner, depending if you are from Burnley or Norway.
It was a nice meal, (especially when Carl kindly opted to pay for it all), again, wish we'd have gone for steaks! We then all went back to their balcony for more drinks, and were joined by several mosquitoes and other flying giant bugs!
We eventually said our goodbyes before finally getting to bed.
