Cindy Aserkoff's Travels
Our last activity before leaving vietnam was to visit a floating market and then floating village The market was made up of various boats that the merchants come to get the food that will sold at the local market. While taking pictures a watermelon. Was tossed onto our boat right at my feet. Someone on our boat had held out his hands to catch the watermelon. The guy was a very poor shot. We were able to visit one of the larger floating houses. It is amazing how little space people can live in. After a very long boat ride in a speed boat, about 100 miles, we arrive in phnom penh. Lunch at our hotel was really good. After lunch we visited the silver pagoda and the royal palace. The silver pagoda is named such because the floor was pure silver, once 60 tons until the french stole the silver. Eventually it was returned but only 6 tons. tonight is dinner at a local restaurant after a short ride in a Cambodian tuk tuk. These tuk tuks seat 4 people pulled by a motor
