On Friday, we took the bus back to Paris Beauvais Airport and were pretty early. We then found out our flight was delayed another two hours, so we were there even earlier. We weren't allowed through the gate since the airport was so tiny, so we had to sit in a cafe for a while. Once we finally got to Croatia, it was much later than we had anticipated getting there. We ate cevapi, which is a main food in Croatia (basically minced meat with peppers on a bun), and got on a three hour bus to Split from Zadar airport. We found our hostel and pretty much went right to bed. In the morning, we went right to breakfast in the downtown area. Our hostel was in a really great location. We took out kuna, the Croatian currency, and went to eat. We ate right along the water next to the palm trees, which was such a change of pace in comparison to the cities we had been to. The area was so pretty and it was nice and warm outside. We sat at breakfast for a while and just relaxed, then went to find a beach. Our hostel recommended a long walk to the beach, so we decided to do that as something more low key. We got to have a scenic walk to the beach and stopped to take pictures, and then sat on the beach for a while. We walked back for dinner and then sat by the water at night, where fireworks were going off. It was still pretty warm at night, and it felt even warmer for us. We walked 6.76 miles. On Sunday, we took an early ferry ride to the island of Hvar. Our hostel recommended it for us. We ate lunch when we got there, and then walked down by the water. An older man approached us and asked us if we wanted to do a boat tour. His boat was docked and we decided it would be a really fun idea. It was so warm out again. He took us to Palmizana Island, and we got to cruise all along the water for a while. When we got to the island, he showed us all around it and we got to see the restaurants and places tourists stay in the summer. He told us that September was the best time to come. In May, June, and July, he said don't bother due to how many people are there. There were more people sitting on the beach outside the touristy area as well. We then took the boat back so that we could catch our ferry back to Split in time. We packed up to get ready to leave for Frankfurt in the middle of the night. We only did 4.34 miles of walking today.
