We flew to Melbourne from Sydney on Tuesday for all of about 22 pounds! We're staying in a place called Melbourne International with Tom Wilson who leaves on Tuesday. We're having a good time so far - the Melbourne comedy festival is on at the moment, so we're taking the opportunity to see some good comedy and have a couple of shows booked. The city is pretty generic to be honest and a bit spread out; not as fun as Sydney so far, but then being with someone I know and doin stuff makes up for it. The photo for this blog was taken on a beach here in Melbourne (incidentaly the same beach with the sea that Tom and I jumped in with our clothes on 'cos he dared me - it was cold). Keren and I are considering hiring a camper van (http://www.wickedcampers.com.au) with two people we met in Sydney and touring the East Coast with them. It is only $40 a night ($0.44 to the GBP) which, even with petrol costs, is cheaper than staying in a hostel. I have however run out of money so it may not happen, and Keren also wants to shorten the trip for various reasons. If we don't, or after anyays, I'm going to try to to get a job.
