Fees using your debit card abroad

Your transaction is converted into sterling at the exchange rate based on market or government-set rates.

For card transactions, this will be the rate on the date the amount is debited to your account. A 2.75% charge for Barclays handling costs and any VISA processing fees are included in the sterling conversion on your statement.

There is an additional 1.5% fee (min £1.50 max £4.50) if you use your Barclays debit cards in the UK to obtain cash, currency or travellers cheques anywhere other than a cash machine or Barclays branch.

This fee is also payable on all foreign transactions via a cash machine or in a bank except Barclays cash machines or those within the Global Alliance. (i.e. Westpac in Oz) If you use a cash machine outside the Global Alliance, you may also incur an additional service charge on top.

Just a friendly reminder on the Uni choice issue. You have till the 5th of May to accept via UCAS after which the offers lapse!

Got the documents from "Insure and Go" including a handy little credit card shaped thingy with the policy number and telephone numbers on it. Not usre if you need it or not - but if you do and can let me have a forwarding address (prob in OZ) I'll send it on.
