Whats up in Jesus' awesome name my dear family and friends. He truly is so awesome and I can't put into words how much I love him. But as much as I love him he will always love me more and he loves you so much also and I hope that all of you will one day realize that. Once again Father G has come through with flying colours providing all my finances for outreach. In the space of two weeks I was blessed with around $3500. Thanks to all those who have supported me for my missions trip. Were due to be leaving on the 31st which is just over a week away now. The last three weeks have been awesome to say the least. I will fill you in on all that has happened shortly but firstly I must mention the milestone that tomorrow is in my life. It will be the 23rd of December which will make it one year since I had my first radical encounter with Jesus under Dawson Falls in New Zealand last year. I'm so thankful for what Father G has done in my life over the last year. He has blessed me so incredibly and there is so much more to come as walking with Jesus is the most amazing journey anyone could ever embark on. For those of you who have not received Jesus to be the lord and saviour of your life then 'just do it' as Nike would say and watch as your life gets radically changed as Father G pours out his love and joy upon you.
Talking of giving your life to Jesus I was at a really cool Church that was held on the grassy area above Scarborough beach three weeks ago. After the service we had a free BBQ to give us the opportunity to talk to locals and beach goers. My friends Kelvin and I got talking to two Maori boys and after talking to them for a while, sharing my testimony with them and praying with them they ended up receiving Jesus as their saviour. It was awesome to see first hand as God poured out his love upon them. They were both blown away and so excited. Praise Father G, it was such a cool experience to be a part of. The week following this which was week 9 we had Rod Thorpe teaching us about Lordship. Rod leads YWAM in the Middle East and through the testimonies he shared he has gotten me real fired up to work there at some stage, especially in the real hard places that others don't want to go to like Somalia. The two parts that stood out to me most about this week was Rods teaching on how we don't have to strive for Gods love as he loves us right where we are now and learning to lay down my rights to God. I laid down my rights to get anything from anybody as I have learned that I must always turn to God to get my needs met, whether that be emotional, physical or financial. I loved this week and I grew in my dependence upon Father G a lot giving him complete control of my life and laying down all my rights to him.
The following week we had Evangelism which I also loved. This week was taught by Danny Taylor who is one of the leaders of the base and he leads the school of Evangelism. One of the big things in evangelism is dying to self so we can see people from Gods Perspective. A homeless person and a lost child are seen the same by Father G. The only difference is their history and we need to stop judging. A few nights ago we had our application from our week of evangelism which was to head onto the main street in Perth and do open air Preaching. I absolutely loved it! I started my message by shouting out FREEDOM! Following on from this in my loud booming voice I preached how the truth had set me free and I shared a very brief part of my testimony followed by a short Gospel message. People were a bit blown away by an Irishman in a poncho preaching the Gospel. I saw many people stop mid meal with their mouths open in shock, others almost ran away as soon as I started preaching while many others stood by and listened to me also. I loved the whole experience though and can't wait to do it again.
This last week we had Relationships which was taught by Coleen Noblet who is also one the leaders of the YWAM Perth base. On the first day I learned that God has called us focus on others and not ourselves, we discover who we are through building relationships with others. God has created us to be in relationship with him and all those around us. We must learn to operate in total honesty and truthfulness in all our relationships and as a result of this we learn to trust each other completely. We learned a lot about love. It is not just a feeling. It is a conscious choice of will for the highest good for God, others and oneself. It is possible to love everyone! If we press in and persevere in our love, God will grow us in our wholeness. According to the Bible we should be striving to outdo each other in love and good works. Another aspect of this weeks teaching that I loved was that we need to practice eveness in our emotions. We need to be consistent in greeting others etc. We must learn to be consistent in our emotions and submit them to Jesus. We must exercise self-control and never be moody. Lastly we finished the week talking about dating. Dating should not be casual and it should have the purpose of discovering if this is person you want to marry. We must be accountable and always keep God at the centre of the relationship.
That about sums up all the awesome teaching I have had over the past three weeks. A week ago we had our Carols by Candlelight night for the all the locals in the local park. There was around 1000 people there and it was a great night. I was part of the choir singing bass. It was a great night during which YWAM had the opportunity to build favor in the local area. Its only a few days from Christmas now and this will be the second year in a row that I will be away from home for Christmas. I miss my family dearly but God has blessed me with an amazing family here also and we are due to get very spoilt for Christmas. There has been an incredible amount of food donations over the past few weeks and we will be having every sort of meet you can think of, all sorts of cheeses, desserts and so much more. I can't wait! Then on boxing day we will all be heading to the beach for the day for a BBQ and games. Its due to be hottest day of the summer so far on Christmas day also getting close to 40c which is a big change from chilly Ireland. I wish you all a Merry Chirstmas and I pray that Father G will bless you abundantly through this holiday. Do not forget the guest of honour as it is his Birthday that we will be celebrating. As always any prayed requests please send them my way. I love you all. Blessings of peace and love.
