Well hello there readers!
It has been some time since my last blog so as you have probably guessed I have been out and about over the last few months. Also had problems uploading photos on the site as my internet is slow but most of them are on facebook if you want to check them out. Ok, so July 5th was an exciting time for me as I had the pleasure of being joined by my lovely boyfriend 5 weeks, and after 5 months of being apart it was a joy to have him here ( He did all the "manly" things like replacing the bulbs that had broken which I hadn't changed, and sorting out the wireless router for the internet - previously I had a very long cable!). Our first weekend kicked off with a trip to Bankok, Ste had some work stuff going on there so we spent the weekend in a very nice hotel. Though I do have to say although the Thai food was great, I prefer People's Palace in Manila for the Thai food :). The weekend after that we jetted away yet again to Singapore, which was fantastic as the weather was great and we got to catch up with some friends. I loved Singapore, some people think it is a sterile place, but to me it was so clean and organised.
Over the time Ste was here, I have to say the weather was as expected.. rainy! Though it has been picking up a bit recently as we get out of rainy season (she says as the clouds loom outside). We also tried to show Ste the Taal but there was a storm and the view could not be seen, but the day was still lovely as we went to Antonios restaurant in tagaytay, I recommend it, lovely atmosphere and absolutely fantastic food.
Then I made my way back to the UK on 5th Aug alongside Ste, and arrived to a very "fresh" England. Whilst in the UK I went about seeing lots of friends, though didnt get through everyone - so if you are reading this, don't get offended. I had the joy of playing at my friends wedding in Plymouth, which was fantastic and I did enjoy the cornish pasties, and scones with clotted cream and jam, my mouth is watering just thinking about the feast that was served up.
I arrived back in Manila about 2 weeks ago and it has been a bit up and down at work since, my job has changed which is a bit crazy, but I am getting used to it a relishing the new challenge whilst getting back into the old gym routine, I had lost quite a lot of fitness during 2 weeks gorging on food in the UK :). The first weekend back here involved a trip to beautiful Cebu again, the weather there always seems to be good when I go, even when it is raining in Manila, love the night life there too.
Last weekend involved a trip for a friends birthday to Salon de Ning in the The Penninsular - fabulous little night spot for drinks and live band. Followed by a trip to Republic! Always a good way to end a night, though music on friday nights rather than sat was more my cup of tea.
And this weekend, not really up to much, just relaxing and sorting out the flat, probably do some violin practice, yes I have the music for Grade 7 - I will get there one day! Really enjoying my time here in the Philippines, it is a great lifestyle and I have really been able to get used to my own company, having never lived alone before. I started cooking more for myself too, trying to be a bit healthier and it is going well.
I am looking forward to my trip to the UK again in a few weeks, though it will be more work based, but hey, I get to fly business, so it can't be that bad!
Well, that was a swift update to let you know where I am at with everything and will try and post again soon, though as I am not particularly going anywhere, it might be when I get back again from the UK.
I am planning on some more Island visits (for my Birthday) and even got a trip booked for Singapore in December again.
Hope you are all well and missing me lots.
Love Christinexxx
