So it's official I have been here for a week already! It feels like longer! It's been one hell of an experience so far and were only getting started!
So after waking up this morning I have realised that Yesterday afternoon really wasn't a good idea. My ankle was killing and swollen again. And the worst thing was i had acquired a horrible cold and had been up most of the night coughing! So it would seem i have been quite unlucky, but refuse to see the bad side of this!
After not eating much for breakfast because i didn't feel like anything, we went to lessons. Today we watched a film on the history of China, which was quite intriguing. It also meant that i could sit with my ankle elevated and i could also rest my voice. At dinner i didn't eat anything because i didn't feel like anything and at this point was feeling slightly sick.
Mike and everyone else have gone to visit the Temple of and the Pearl Market, which i have missed out on due to the fact i'm supposed to be resting.. I'm actually not that upset about it because it means i can sleep for a couple of hours and try and get this cold out of my system. Also i can always visit them next year when i'm in Beijing before i leave :)
I think the plans for tonight when everyone returns, is that were going to KTV, which is what the Chinese do for fun. It's basically a Karaoke bar, but you pay for your room, so that your not disturbed by anyone else. It sounds great and theres one in the hotel were staying in. We thought it is our last night, why not try it out! So this should be quite exciting. I however have no voice…. so i'll just mime or something haha
Upon everyone's return, they decided to have a pre drinking sesh in Reece and Brian's room before KTV. This was a lot of fun and the guys played music from the new speakers they had bought in the pearl market. It was nice to see everyone letting loose a little. So at about 11pm we decided to go to KTV. Turns out that KTV in the hotel wouldn't let us in for some reason in mandarin that we couldn't understand, so we went out to the town looking for one. We found one in another hotel, but it would cost us 1000 RMB for a room, so we decided to skip it. We went for a walk around the town and came across a weird arcade thing. It was like an arcade but with a load of computers and what looked like COD on the screens… It was slightly odd. By this point a lot of the volunteers were a little tipsy, so we headed back to the Hotel, where a few people stayed in Harriet's and i's room for a chat. After they left Harriet and i packed and went to bed.
Seventh day in China - Missed out on the Pearl Market, but had fun watching everyone dance in Reece and Brians room!
