So today was a chilled out day. Last night , not so much. I decided to pack last night and ended up breaking my cabin back…. not the best thing to happen. After all that I decided a shower was in order, so I chucked my Pyjamas in the bathroom and went to get my shower stuff. I got back to the bathroom and saw that my Pj's ended up in a sink full of water! THEY WERE SOAKING! So I wasn't having a good night. I then decided to wait up for Emma who was sharing a room with Harriet, Gina and myself. A group of people happened to go out in the rain last night to a few bars… Anyway, I ended up not going to sleep until about 2:30. :/
After a hectic wake up this morning, we went for a 'Treasure Hunt'. Which wasn't really a treasure hunt, it was more like Mike gave us a map and told us to get to the restaurant for lunch. It was a lot of fun though! We got to see two amazing lakes and some really random things, such as a guy getting his haircut in the street…. That genuinely happens here in China! I then noticed that my ankle an foot were hurting a lot! So it seems that i've sprained and torn a ligament in my right ankle/foot. YAY for me! haha
After getting to the restaurant successfully an hour before we should have, we decided to walk around the town! Which did nothing to help my foot situation, but no way was i missing out on this!We found an amazing pastry shop! We didn't buy anything because everything looked so good! We went in to look and the clothes and shoes in the different shops in the town. You literally wouldn't understand how cheap everything is here, its really amazing! After looking around for an hour, we went for food with Mike, who again ordered everything and we sat at a lazy suzanne table. If i'm honest the foods kinda getting a bit boring now, but its still quite nice. I prefer the place we went too on the first two nights than today's choice.
After the lunch we went back to the hostel to move to the Hotel opposite the school we are going to be at this week. I had already packed so I rested my leg. So after quite a lengthy trip to the Hotel, we finally made it. We met the person who would be teaching us chinease at the school this week, and she took us over to the hotel. After checking in, I manage to get some ice for my foot, which kinda helped bring the swelling down. The hotel looks brand new, but at the same time run down. The internet is a lot more reliable here though and the beds are comfy! Took ages to get the wifi password as the receptionist's don't speak any English! We got there in the end though! The only downside of coming here so early is that Mike wouldn't be with us for food.
So a group of us headed to the town and started to try and find a restaurant to eat in. Again, not really helping my swollen, painful ankle. But it was so much fun trying to order our meals and the conversation and jokes around the table made it totally worth it! I am with the funniest group of people in the world! Which is quite lucky! The people who worked in the restaurant were taking pictures of us, and were so happy when we responded by posing for the pictures! Chinease people have an OBSESSION of taking photos of white people. But we secretly love the attention!
After a very trying day, ( at least where my ankle is concerned) it has been amazing, again!
Third day in china - Hurt my ankle, got my photo taken by some chinease people, successfully got some ice for my ankle, got the wifi password for the hotel.
